The brief
Schools tend to run academic reporting on whatever's on hand — spreadsheets, manual result sheets, and processes that live in one administrator's head. Report Card was built to give that process a proper structure: a platform for student performance records, result computation, and the reporting workflows schools repeat every term.
The approach
Rather than adapting a generic reporting template, the system was structured around how schools actually operate — organized by term and session, with consistent grading logic that administrators and teachers could rely on producing the same result every time it's used.
The goal throughout was operational structure over feature count: a smaller, more consistent system that handles the core reporting workflow correctly is more useful to a school than a larger one that requires workarounds every term.
Where it stands
Report Card exists today as a live product at reportcard.app, giving schools a digital reporting system with clearer operational structure than the spreadsheet-and-paper processes it replaces.
